Hi, I am Sherry Clark.
As a child, I was enamored with viewing the world and the people in it through the lens of a camera. At the age of five, I saved my allowance to purchase my own camera with matching blue plastic sunglasses. Through the years my style has evolved and upleveled, along with my camera equipment, but my love for photography and the way light and shadow mold together to create vivid images that inspire and delight has remained the same.
Through my formative years, I followed my heart and volunteered for any opportunity to work with my favorite companion, my Canon Rebel, and the time I spent as my school’s yearbook photographer cemented my desire to pursue photography full-time. I chose to attend SCAD to surround myself with other artists so that I could grow in a way I couldn’t before in my limited surroundings. The time I spent there exposed to experts in every artistic field utilizing equipment and new processes which stretched me creatively every day cultivated me further into the photographer I wanted to be, and I am grateful for that time in my life.
Photography isn’t a job to me, it’s a way of life. A life where I can find the beauty in every moment, exploring my surroundings and expressing myself creatively whenever I feel called and composing special memories for those around me: the details on a busy wedding day, the love and awe surrounding a newborn’s birth; you get to enjoy and live in the moment, while I capture it.
